We spent one weekend in December 2007 driving to George to meet some people from the Weg Forum.  (Weg is an Afrikaans magazine focusing on special places to travel throughout the southern part of Africa.)  We met the main group for a braai at Louvain, and then several of us spent the next two days doing a short motorbike trip through the Outeniqua Mountains.  Though we got rained on again, we had a wonderful time and put Suzuki to some good use!  (Click the left and right arrows to see all the photos.)

We met the Weg Forum folks for a braai in Louvain. What a beautiful camp.

Then five of us climbed on our motorbikes while a few other folks followed in their SUV.

We were greeted by the resident white buffalo while passing a small nature reserve.

Several small creeks had to be crossed during the trip.

Luckily, none of the creeks posed a real problem.

This spot used to be the site of a guest house which was a stopping point for travelers passing through the Outeniqua Mountains.

The scenery was incredible.

The second day brought a lot of rain, but the guys just couldn't be more excited to have fun in the mud and creeks!
